THE
OLD HOTEL WAS GOOD FOR SOMETHING

Maybe
some long-term Newark natives will recognize the public
officials from the 60's who portraits I plastered into the windows of
the old hotel (Warden?) - the one that stood on the corner of Second
and East Main streets where Wendy's is now located. I was fairly new in
town when I manufactured this hooky montage.
I can only
be sure about the identities of three: Skip Melton, top row
far left, Phil Resta, middle window top row, and to his right, Al
Hoffman.
I don't
even remember why I shot it, but it might have had something to
do United Way and the use of the hotel for UW offices. Just a guess.
Note that they all have
posies in their lapels, indicating the portraits were shot at the same
time at some meeting.
